先日。長いおつきあいをしていただいている農家の方々が
放棄されたリンゴ園地をグループで買い受けて「さくらんぼ園」を
始めてから数年が経ちようやく立派な「さくらんぼ」が収穫できるように
なったと言って「さくらんぼ狩り」に案内を受けて行ってきました。
まさしく私は「さくらんぼ狩り」は始めての経験でしたが驚きました。
甘みが強くて香りがフレッシュ、スーパーで買ったものとは雲泥の差でした。
これまでは「さくらんぼ」と言えば南部町の名川地区が有名ですが
津軽でも産地化を進めようと意気込んでいる様子です。

The other day, I visited a cherry orchard at the invitation of some farmers
  I have known for a long time. 
They had purchased a plot of land (an abandoned apple orchard)
  and spent several years developing it into a cherry orchard;
  they told me they were finally able to harvest truly excellent cherries. 
It was my very first time picking cherries, and I was amazed. 
They were incredibly sweet and fresh (smelling) worlds apart
  from the cherries you buy at the supermarket. 
While the Nagawa district of Nanbu Town has long been famous for its cherries,
  there is now great enthusiasm for establishing Tsugaru as a production area as well.
